Exam Details

Internal Exam
As per the norms of Directorate of Technical Education Two Internal Examinations, Five unit tests are conducted and One Model Examination is conducted for each semester. A candidate will be permitted to appear for the Board’s Examinations, only, if

  • He / she secures 80% Attendance in the year / semester concerned
  • He / she earns a progress certificate from the lead of the institution for satisfactorily completing the course of study as required by the regulations, and
  • His / her conduct was satisfactory during the course study.

Internal Examinations are conducted as per the rules given for the Board Examination. For Model Examination Question papers are collected from various standard polytechnic colleges.

Continuous Internal Evaluation:

For Theory Subjects:
It has been decided to introduce continuous Internal Assessment marks for a total of 25 marks, which are to be distributed as follows:
(Award of marks for attendance will be as per the range given below)

Attendance 5 Marks
80% - 83% 1 Marks
84% - 87% 2 Marks
88% - 91% 3 Marks
92% - 95% 4 Marks
96% - 100% 5 Marks
Test 10 Marks
2 Tests each of 2 hours duration for a total of 50 marks are to be conducted. Out of which the best one will be taken and the marks to be reduced to: 5 Marks
The Test – III is to be the Model test covering all the five units and the marks so obtained will be reduced to: 5 Marks

 

TEST UNITS WHEN TO CONDUCT MARKS DURATION
Test I Unit – I & II End of 6th Week 50 2 Hrs
Test II Unit – III & IV End of 12th Week 50 2 Hrs
Test III Model Examination – Compulsory Covering all the 5 Units. (Board Examination-question paper-pattern). End of 16th Week 75 2 Hrs

Question Paper Pattern for the Periodical Test : (Test I & II)

5 Question X 1 marks 05 marks
5 Question X 3 marks 15 marks
3 Question X 10 marks 30 marks
Total 50 marks



Assignment 10 marks
For each subject Three Assignments are to be given each for 20 marks and the average marks scored should be reduced for 10 marks.

All Test Papers and assignment notebooks after getting the signature from the students must be kept in the safe custody in the Department for verification and audit. It should be preserved for a Semester and produced to the flying squad at the time of inspection.

For Practical Subjects:
The Sessional mark Calculation for Practical subjects is to be done as follows

Attendance : 5 Marks – Evaluation
Pattern as same as Theory
Procedure/ observation and tabulation/ Other Practical related Work : 10 Marks
Result : 5 Marks
Record writing : 5 Marks
TOTAL : 25 Marks

 

  • The Record for every completed exercise should be submitted in the subsequent Practical classes and marks should be awarded  20 marks for each exercise as per the above allocation.
  • At the end of the Semester, the average marks of all the exercises should be calculated for 20 marks and the marks awarded for attendance is to be added to arrive at the sessional mark for Practical.

Model Exam
In our N.P.R. Polytechnic College there is only one Model exam conducted in every semester. (The even semester Model examination date will be updated).

University Exam
(The even semester Board examination date will be updated).
